It is advisable for both mixed food enthusiasts and vegans to use healthy fats (unsaturated fatty acids) that are found in plant-based foods. Unsaturated fatty acids serve the body as a component of the cell membranes and ensure they remain permeable and flexible. Furthermore, the brain mainly consists of polyunsaturated docosahexaenoic acid which is the most important fatty acid in the brain. Polyunsaturated fats also have an anti-inflammatory effect, support cell division and are precursors of hormones.
